Endometriosis
Sorry about the long wait. I've been searching DESPERATELY for a job, with no success so far :(
Anyway, I was diagnosed with Endometriosis about a year and a half ago. I would get horrible cramps during and after my period, so bad that I would have to take serious painkillers to get rid of the pain. My gynecologist thought that I might have Endometriosis, but nothing showed up on any screenings. In June of last year, I had a laproscopy to remove anything in my abdomen that would be causing me pain. I had my appendix removed while they were in there, and lo and behold, I had a good amount of endometriosis on my rectum (lovely.). Since it had been removed, I had no cramps or pain for almost an entire year, until about 2 months ago.
A month ago, the pain started to come back, and it became much much worse, and I was back to where I was before the surgery. My doctor doesn't think the endometriosis is back, but that the nerve endings that were numbed from the surgery had grown back, causing me pain. Apparently, that happens to half the women who get the surgery I had. One thing that my doctor recommended is that I go to a physical therapist. As strange as it sounds, I've had 3 sessions with a PT and my cramps have almost completely gone! I'd get them about 4 times a week, and now it's once a week, and much less sever. I've also began exercising more and began a gluten-free diet. Gluten is known to "feed" endometriosis, so I think that's definitely helped. I'm really happy so far with my results, and I have about 3 more sessions with the PT.
